As many of you were hopefully aware of, last Tuesday the 8th was midterm elections. On Utah’s ballot, voters were asked to give their yes or no opinion on a 10 cent gas tax increase. The revenue from this Gas tax increase would be used to fund not only fund roads but also public education as stated in the legislation (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.. Out all the voters that day, 66.09% voted no (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. on the nonbinding agreement. Some justification why to vote yes or no can be found at link1  (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.and link2  (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.
One reason not included to vote yes revolves around carbon emissions. Carbon emission in Utah creates smog and an unhealthy breathing environment in the Salt Lake Vally. We see this more so on days with winter inversion.
Write a short response, around 250 to 500 words, about how effective this legislation would be at funding education and possible removing carbon emission from Utah Air.
If you need help recall and study lessons on
