Description

As stated in my video, chapter 1 and 2 contains important principles and concepts that will lay a good foundation for future discussions in the course. To effectively analyze the case studies that we’ll be reviewing in the course, we need to have a good understanding of the content covered in chapters 1 and 2 of the required textbook.

I’d like you to provide summary responses to the following questions (summarize in your own words, do not copy straight from the chapter):

a) Chapter 1 starts with a review of the differences between international/local public relations campaigns and global public relations campaigns.

First, what are the differences between international/local and global public relations practice? Second, what are the benefits and drawbacks of embracing each? (250 words minimum; 10 Points).

b) Citing Vercic, Grunig, and Grunig (1996), Alaimo states that there are nine generic principles of good public relations practice “applicable across cultures and political/economic systems” and that, in applying these principles, international public relations practitioners must take account of five dimensions along which societies differ (p. 36). Alaimo adds a tenth one. Assignment Help – Summarize each of the 10 generic principles highlighted by Alaimo in chapter 1. (250 words minimum; 10 Points).

c) Referencing Vercic, Grunig, and Grunig (1996) once again, Alaimo notes that societies differ along five dimensions which have a major impact on local public relations practice. Alaimo adds two more dimensions. Assignment Help – Summarize each of the seven dimensions which, according to Alaimo and others, offer a helpful framework for public relations practitioners to consider as they adapt their PR strategies and tactics to different local contexts. (400 words minimum; 20 Points).

Label your responses accordingly.
