Must be original work onlyThe association between job-related exposure to welding fumes and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) was explored in a case-control study. The following data were reported for 450 COPD patients:40 patients were currently employed as welders; the other 410 had no occupational exposure to welding fumes.Among the 900 controls used in the study, 55 were employed as welders.Set up a 2×2 table and calculate the Odds Ratio the advantages and disadvantages of the 2×2 table in the context of study design, and specifically as this table can represent associations between exposure and disease status.
