Apply Kohlberg’s OR Gilligan’s theory to a character and situation.
Think
of a person/character on television, in the movies, or in a book, and
try to determine that person’s overall motivation for their actions.
Then tell us what stage(s) you believe that person/character would be in
and why. Do NOT write about someone you personally know, just a
character from tv, books, or movies.
Be
sure to give us a little summary of the person/character in case we are
not familiar with them. After the summary, discuss the stage(s) the
character represents.
For example: I think Dr. House is in Kohlberg’s second stage, because even
though he saves lives he does it to benefit his own ego – himself. He
is almost totally self motivated which is characteristic of a stage two
person, etc. examples etc.
The BECAUSE should be detailed and is the most important part!!!
