The final project for this course will be a 20 page “Atlas” where you develop a world for use in a future game project. Format this Atlas in the style of a supplement for an rpg and include within it any rules, charts, tables, or images necessary to establish the fiction. It is okay if you prepare this as a supplement to an existing RPG system. If you do, please flag which system you are supplementing with this work.
Students are expected to consider the people who inhabit this world, their cultural and political beliefs, as well as the world’s architecture, topography, technology, and fantastic twists. These projects will be evaluated by their creative merit, the interplay between people, culture, and technology within the world, as well as the world’s aesthetic appeal, and originality.
Your “Atlas” will be worth 30 points and will be evaluated in terms of originality, worldbuilding, game design, and more. Your final submissions should be of a well finished quality—please run a spell check and do your best to PDF and format your finals accordingly.
