Impact of SES extra credit Brief summary of extra credit requirements: For up to 30 points of extra credit, look into disparities between the higher income side of town and the lower income side of town and discuss (in 1.5 pages or less) the impact on people as it pertains to any topic discussed in this class. This will be accepted until the extra credit deadline in the syllabus. Clarification of how to do this/rules: For disparities: some examples of disparities that you might look into include (but are not limited to) number and quality of grocery stores, number and quality of restaurants, number and quality of schools, number and quality of hospitals/doctor offices/clinics, etc. For side of town you can use any town with which you are familiar, but you should concentrate on either a clear line between lower income and higher income (e.g. either side of a street/highway/train tracks) or focus on a high income neighborhood and a low income neighborhood. For topics, anything that we said in class (or the textbook said) is/could be impacted, directly or indirectly, by socioeconomic status can be used (including but not limited to: health, education, development, etc.).
